Iran tried to interfere in 2020, 2024 elections to stop Trump, and now faces renewed war with United States:
Donald Trump.
Reckless is the only way to descirbe Donald Trump’s war with Iran.
Governor Gavin Newsom.
The Pentagon confirmed there was NO sign that Iran was going to attack the U.S.
No imminent threat.
No authorization from Congress.
No reason our service members should be dead.
And no exit plan or strategy.
This war on Iran is a reckless and deadly mistake by this regime.
Senator Mazie K. Hirono.
There was no immediate threat from Iran, and there is still no clear objective. Congress must immediatley vote to end Trump’s war with Iran.
Senator Patty Murray.
Both Saudi Arabia and the UAE lobbied Trump to strike Iran.
Both countries have major financial ties to Trump & his son-in-law Jared Kushner. War gives dictators like Trump (and his family) more power and more wealth. Period.
Robert Reich.
Trump releases a statement saying he is sending American to war with Iran because “Iran tried to interfere in 2020, 2024 elections to stop Trump.”
Brian Tyler Cohen.
The U.S. Senate must be clear: no war with Iran.
President Trump, along with his right-wing extremist Israeli ally Benjamin Netanyahu, has begun an illegal, premeditated and unconstitutional war. Tragically, Trump is gambling with American lives and treasure to fulfill Netanyahu’s decades-long ambition of dragging the United States into armed conflict with Iran.
The U.S. Constitution is clear. It is the Congress that declares war, not a president acting unilaterally. The Senate must reconvene immediately and vote on a pending War Powers Resolution which I will strongly support. Further, this attack against Iran is a clear violation of international law and will create increased instability in an already dangerous world. If the United States and Israel can launch an attack against a sovereign nation, so can any other country. Might dows not make right. It creates international anarchy, death, destruction and human misery.
Senator Bernie Sanders.
Trump can’t explain why he attacked Iran
President Donald Trump’s attacks against Iran have already led to hundreds of deaths. Despite those deadly consequences, he has been incapable of providing Americans and the world a clear reason for beginning this violence.
Trump has offered an array of reasons for the attack.
He told The Washington Post that “freedom” for Iran was his motivation for attacking, claiming, “All I want is freedom for the people.” Then in an interview with Axios, he said the reason for the attack was failed negotiations with Iran over their nuclear facilities, saying, “I can go long and take over the whole thing, or end it in two or three days.”
But Trump told The New York Times that the U.S. plans to continuously attack Iran for “four to five weeks” if necessary, and that it “won’t be difficult.” Speaking to ABC News, Trump justified the attack by referencing a purported 2024 plot by now-deceased Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to kill Trump. “I got him before he got me,” Trump said. “They tried twice. Well, I got him first.”
Yet, in his press conference on Monday, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said, “This is not a so-called ‚regime-change war,‘ but the regime sure did change.” He also referenced the notion of halting Iran’s “nuclear ambitions,” which clashes with Trump’s claim last year that previous strikes had “completely and totally obliterated” Iran’s facilities.
At the same time Trump and his senior leadership are failing to communicate why American forces are engaged in combat, there are already signs that Iran did not pose an imminent threat to American safety.
Pentagon officials reportedly briefed members of Congress and discussed Iran’s military arsenal, but two sources told Reuters that they offered no intelligence about a threat to American assets.
Before the attacks, the public was skeptical about striking Iran, and Trump has been underwater in his approval ratings on most issues. He has failed to stop discussion about his ties to accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, and even members of his own party have been raising the alarm about weak economics and rising prices thanks to his illegal tariffs.
People are dying because of Trump’s actions in Iran, and he can’t—or won’t—say why.

US Military Commander Tells Troops Bombing Iran Is ‘Part Of God’s Divine Plan’
For some US military commanders, the emerging war in Iran is part of a biblical plan to bring about the end of the world as we know it, according to complaints filed by over 100 service members.
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation has received a litany of complaints about religious ideology seeping into military orders since the US and Israel began bombing Iran, independent journalist Jon Larsen first reported.
“They are promised a 200-mile-long river that is four-and-a-half feet deep filled with nothing but the blood that their weaponised version of Jesus will spill at the Battle of Armageddon,” Weinstein said. “That’s a lot of blood.”
Part of what makes the accounts so disturbing, Weinstein said, is that service members aren’t able to push back when they’re given orders that blur the line regarding the separation of church and state.
“This is all about time, place and manner,” he said. “If you’re being proselytised to by your superior, you can’t say, ‘Get out of my face.’ Under the military’s criminal code of justice, insubordination is considered a felony.”
The non-commissioned officer, who is Christian, reported to MRFF that a commander told them to tell fellow troops that the war in Iran was “all part of God’s divine plan.” The commander allegedly cited the Book of Revelation and the section specifically referring to Armageddon and the “imminent” return of Jesus Christ.
The non-commissioned officer said the messaging from higher-ups is not only “destroy[ing] morale and unit cohesion” among troops, but they also believe the commanders are flagrantly violating their oaths to uphold the Constitution, which guarantees the freedom of religion.
According to the complaint first reported by Larsen, the commander said President Donald Trump “has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.” The commander “had a big grin on his face when he said all of this which made his message seem even more crazy,” the complaint said. “I and my fellow troops know that it is completely wrong to have to suffer through what our commander said today. It’s not just the separation of church and state … It’s the fact that our commander feels as though he is fully supported and justified by the entire (combat unit’s name withheld) chain of command to inflict his Armageddon views of our attack on Iran on those of us beneath him in the chain of command,” the officer wrote in his complaint to MRFF. Weinstein said some service members called him on Sunday to report that they were being invited to Bible studies at their commanders’ personal homes to “discuss how this was all part of the plan and it’s all being lived out in the Book of Revelation and Christian eschatology.” Commanders were “in a hurry” to get subordinates on board, according to the complaints received by MRFF. Once a service member makes a complaint to MRFF, finding a solution can be difficult. Service members have a few different options, Weinstein said: If troops are told they lack courage, intelligence or bravery because of their religious tradition or lack thereof, they can file an inspector general complaint or an ethics complaint within the military. “But then you completely out yourself,” Weinstein said. “And when you do that in the military, you become what we call a ‘tarantula on a wedding cake.’ How long do you think that cake lasts at that wedding?” Troops can complain to military judge advocates, lawyers or chaplains, but the latter can be especially tricky. The majority of the US military’s chaplains are Christian and many are evangelical.
“By itself, that’s fine,” Weinstein said. “But if you are a Christian Nationalist, you don’t pay any attention to the time, place or manner … with any sort of religious extremism, we end up not with little streams, or creeks or brooks, but with oceans and oceans of blood.” Weinstein said none of this should necessarily be shocking. The evangelical leanings of the Trump administration — and in particular the Department of Defense — have not been a secret. At a prayer breakfast last month, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth claimed the US was a “Christian nation,” and there are prayer meetings at the Pentagon each month. But putting religion into politics is inflicting “generational damage” onto the US and its military, Weinstein said.
The White House did not immediately return a request for comment.
Harrison Mann, a 13-year veteran of the US Army who served under President Barack Obama, during Trump’s first term and under President Joe Biden, told HuffPost that for soldiers, there “isn’t much of a difference” inside the military — at least “culturally speaking” — even when presidents are “doing some really crazy stuff” publicly, he said. Because of that, he argues it may be too soon to say whether Hegseth can actually inflict permanent damage to the military. Mann is, however, deeply worried about what happens to the public perception of the troops in the meantime. “There’s danger in commanders telling soldiers they only vouch for Christians, whites or MAGA supporters. When the public starts to view the military that way too, then you get to a much more dangerous place where they no longer have trust in them,” he said.

Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead.
We are hearing that many of their IRGC, Military, and other Security and Police Forces, no longer want to fight, and are looking for Immunity from us. As I said last night, “Now they can have immunity, later they only geht Death!” Hopefully the IRGC and Police will peacefully merge with the Iranian Patriots, and work together as a unit to bring back the Country to the Greatness it deserves. That procecss should soon be starting […]
Donald Trump.
Also mit der Revolutionsgarde will Donald Trump —
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is one of the most powerful and feared organizations in Iran, playing central roles in the country’s projection of power, internal security, and economy. It has also drawn mounting scrutiny and condemnation from world powers like the United States and European Union, most recently for taking part in a bloody suppression of mass protests in early 2026.
Following the 1979 revolution, Iran’s clerical leaders created the IRGC outside—and as a counterweight to—the country’s traditional armed services, which they distrusted. Today, it reports directly to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and its size and powers have expanded immensely. Among its many prominent military duties, the corps operates Iran’s formidable ballistic missile arsenal and oversees the Quds Force, an expeditionary arm that partners with Iran’s various regional affiliates, including Hamas and Hezbollah. As of 2026, Israel was still engaged in hostilities with both of these militant groups, in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, respectively.
The IRGC is also highly influential in Iran’s national politics. Many corps veterans have moved on to senior government roles, including in the cabinet, parliament, and provinces. The corps has meanwhile enriched itself with billions of dollars by running illicit commercial and financial networks around international sanctions. Many regional experts expect the IRGC to play a pivotal role in selecting a successor to the aging Khamenei, which could further consolidate the group’s power and increase barriers to political reform.

Trump threatens to cut off trade with Spain over air bases
President Donald Trump on Tuesday threatened to halt trade with Spain and said he had instructed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to “cut off all dealings” with the country, amid a dispute over the use of jointly-operated military bases on Spanish soil.
“We’re going to cut off all trade with Spain,” Trump said during a sit-down with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in the Oval Office. “We don’t want anything to do with Spain.”
Madrid this weekend blocked the U.S. from using jointly-operated bases to attack Iran as part of the U.S.-launched war now in its fourth day. Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles on Monday explained that American troops stationed at Morón de la Frontera and Rota airbase must “operate within the framework of international law,” and that the military installations would be prohibited from “providing support except if it is necessary from a humanitarian perspective.”
During the press conference with Merz, Trump added that “Spain has been terrible” and “unfriendly.”
He added that the U.S. didn’t need Spain’s permission to use the bases on its soil. “We can use their bases if we want, we can just fly in and use them,” he said. “No one’s going to tell us not to use them.”

Trump demands ‘disgraceful’ Herzog immediately pardon Netanyahu so PM can focus on Iran war
US President Donald Trump demands that President Isaac Herzog immediately pardon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump tells Channel 12 in a phone interview that Herzog must give Netanyahu a pardon “today.” Trump says he doesn’t want Netanyahu to be bothered by any issue other than the war with Iran. The US president calls Herzog a “disgrace,” claiming he’s raised the matter with the Israeli president for a year and that Herzog promised him five times that he would pardon Netanyahu. Trump says he is refusing to meet Herzog until he gives Netanyahu a pardon. There have been no reported efforts by Herzog to meet with Trump. Trump claims Herzog’s been holding the issue over Netanyahu’s head for a year. This was the second time Trump has attacked Herzog in less than a month, after he said in February that Herzog “should be ashamed of himself” for not granting a pardon to Netanyahu, who is standing trial for alleged fraud, bribery and breach of trust. Trump has been calling for Netanyahu to be pardoned since June 2025 — meaning less than one year.
Responding to Trump’s criticism last month, Herzog’s office said that contrary to the US president’s claims, the Israeli president has not decided on whether to grant Netanyahu a pardon. This is because the matter is still being reviewed by the Justice Ministry, which has to provide a legal opinion before the president can make a decision, the statement from Herzog’s office said. “Only upon completion of that process will President Herzog consider the request in accordance with the law, the best interests of the State of Israel, guided by his conscience, and without any influence from external or internal pressures of any kind,” the statement added. “President Herzog deeply appreciates President Trump for his significant contribution to the State of Israel and its security. Israel is a sovereign state governed by the rule of law,” the statement added, cautiously suggesting that Trump was trying to infringe on Israel’s sovereignty, while insisting that Herzog would not allow that to occur.
